Johanna on her 1780’s-style silk fan: “I asked if I could get a customised fan, I wanted it to be a neo-classical one with sequins, flowers, puttos, a couple in love all on creamy silk.  I wasn’t displeased at all! Again Aurora had showed her true skill with her brush. When I visit our 18th century balls people are always aah:ing and ooh:ing of genuine astonishment of such a masterpiece. And I show it to them gladly, when they have cheap fans of plastic lace or sandalwood dangling on their wrists. I am a proud owner of an 18th century fan; you can’t get any closer to its true form than this.
