I paint my miniatures in water colour and gouache on bases of synthetic alternative
ivory (ivorine), vellum (parchment), mammoth ivory and, whenever I can get my hands
on it, recycled ivory.Mammoth ivory and recycled ivory is legal in Europe and the USA.
You can always choose a miniature painted on an alternative ivory base, however,
if you don’t want anything to do with animal products.
The miniatures are mounted in simple, gold coloured brass frames with curved glass,
imitating the style of the mid-to-late 18th century. 22c gold plated
pendant frames and sterling silver lockets are also available.
